Every Person. Every Culture.
Every Opportunity.

At Midlands Workforce Limited, diversity is not a policy — it is the foundation of everything we do.

"Talent has no borders. Dignity has no exceptions."

Who We Are and Why This Matters

Midlands Workforce Limited is a specialist international recruitment agency connecting skilled Filipino professionals with Irish employers in Healthcare & Nursing and Hospitality & Tourism. We operate at the intersection of immigration, employment law, culture and community.

That intersection is not a comfortable, neutral space. It involves real people leaving families, navigating unfamiliar systems, and placing enormous trust in an agency they often have never met in person. It involves employers who may be welcoming internationally recruited staff for the first time. It involves a regulatory environment that is rightly demanding and constantly evolving.

We take that responsibility seriously — on both sides of the journey. This statement is not a legal document filed away in a drawer. It is a living declaration of how we work and what we are prepared to be held accountable for.

Our Three Pillars: Diversity, Equity & Inclusion

These are not slogans. They are operational commitments that shape every placement we make.

Diversity

We celebrate cultural difference and do not require assimilation as a condition of placement. Our candidate pool is diverse across experience, gender, age and background.

  • We actively represent Filipino and South-East Asian professionals
  • We do not apply cultural conformity as a selection criterion
  • We source candidates across experience levels and career stages
  • We champion under-represented groups within our sectors

Equity

Fair treatment is not an aspiration — it is a contractual requirement we impose on every employer we work with. Equity is about correcting imbalance, not pretending it does not exist.

  • Skills-based, transparent candidate assessments
  • Equal pay parity with equivalent domestic hires
  • Fully explained employment contracts before signing
  • We only partner with employers who commit to equitable treatment

Inclusion

Placement does not end at signing. Inclusion is about ensuring every professional feels genuinely valued and supported within their new workplace and community.

  • Cultural orientation for both candidate and employer
  • Ongoing pastoral support post-placement
  • Named point of contact for any concerns
  • Active feedback loop to continuously improve the experience

Ethical Recruitment Is Non-Negotiable

"No Fees. No Exploitation. No Exceptions."
  • We never charge placement fees to candidates — the employer pays, always.
  • We comply fully with Irish employment law and the Employment Permits Act.
  • We are transparent about the full cost and realistic timeline of relocation before any commitment is made.
  • We verify every employer partner meets decent work standards before placing any candidate with them.
  • We are a registered, insured and fully accountable agency operating under Irish law.
  • We are aligned with the Employer Pays Principle of the Dhaka Principles for migrant worker recruitment.
The Dhaka Principles establish that workers should never pay fees for their own recruitment. We endorse this principle in full — no exceptions, no workarounds, no grey areas.

Diverse Teams Are Better Teams. We Help You Build Them.

The evidence is clear: organisations that embrace cultural diversity outperform those that do not — in innovation, in patient outcomes, in staff retention and in guest satisfaction. But diversity without inclusion is just headcount. Real cross-cultural integration requires preparation, communication and ongoing support.

We do not simply hand you a candidate file and walk away. We work alongside you to ensure the placement succeeds — for the professional, for your team and for your organisation. That means preparing both sides before day one, and being present well beyond it.

We will only partner with employers who genuinely commit to equitable, dignified and legally compliant employment. If that is not you, we are not the right agency. If it is, we will work harder for you than any generalist recruiter ever will.

  • Pre-Placement Cultural Briefing We prepare your management team for the realities of cross-cultural integration before the candidate arrives.
  • Inclusive Onboarding Guidance Practical recommendations to make your onboarding process welcoming and effective for international hires.
  • Visa Renewal Support We guide you and the employee through the employment permit renewal process well in advance of deadlines.
  • Named Contact for Cultural Friction A dedicated point of contact you can call when workplace cultural challenges arise — before they become problems.
  • Employer Standards Verification We audit every employer partner against our Decent Work Standards before any candidate is placed — and periodically thereafter.

"Bayanihan — we carry it together."

Cultural Respect Is Not a Bullet Point

The Bayanihan spirit — the Filipino tradition of communal unity, of neighbours helping neighbours carry the weight — is something we try to bring into everything we do.

We know that behind every CV is a person who has made an enormous decision. They are leaving parents, partners, children, friends and communities. They are navigating a new language in its Irish form, a new climate, a new healthcare system, new social norms, the cost of accommodation in a country they have read about but never lived in. They are managing remittances home alongside their own daily expenses. They are often the first in their family to make this move, carrying the hopes and financial needs of people they love deeply.

We do not pretend that any of this is easy. We do not dress it up in the language of “adventure” when we know it is equally weighted with sacrifice. What we do is try to ensure that no one faces those realities without adequate preparation, honest information and a support structure that does not vanish after they land.

We also acknowledge that Irish employers, however well-intentioned, may not instinctively understand the specific cultural context of Filipino professionals — the indirectness that is politeness, not evasion; the deference to authority that is respect, not passivity; the deep family orientation that shapes every major decision. Part of our work is building that understanding on both sides, creating workplaces where cultural difference is an asset, not an awkward gap to manage.

Held to Our Word

"A statement without accountability is just marketing."

  • We conduct an annual review of our placement practices, assessing outcomes for both candidates and employers, and publish a summary of what we found and what we changed.
  • We maintain an open-door policy to our named director for any candidate or employer who feels our standards have not been met — no intermediaries, no delays.
  • This statement will be updated as industry standards evolve, as Irish law develops, and as our understanding of best practice deepens. It is not a set-and-forget document.
  • We actively seek guidance from Filipino community organisations in Ireland and Irish immigrant support bodies to ensure our practices reflect lived experience, not just legal compliance.

We do not claim to be perfect. We claim to be serious about getting better.

"I started Midlands Workforce because I saw how transformative a well-supported international placement can be — and how damaging a poorly managed one can be. This is not our legal team talking. It is my personal commitment to every professional who trusts us with their future."
